The quality of the finish is superb and as long as everything is prepared correctly you'll not have any problems. I always like to undercoat my satin finish; I know a satin is self-undercoating. I just like that extra depth I get when I apply two satin coats over an undercoat. Brush marks flow out beautifully; like you'd expect from a solvent paint.
The coverage and overall flow are very good and if you wanted something any better you'd be looking at paying far more than this costs. I've used both synthetic and natural bristle brushes with this paint and both do the job just fine, though in my book the natural brush just does the job that bit better.
Two coats of Glidden's satin is more than enough to cover existing light coloured paintwork such as skirting, architrave, doors etc. But you stick 1 - 2 coats of Glidden's undercoat beneath those two coats and you have the type of finish craftsmen dream about. Many would say thats overkill, but finish quality is the name of the game.
